One of the Portuguese’s strategic naval forts built in the 16th century is the Worli Fort. The British later considered the Worli Fort as a strategic naval base to keep an eye on the movement of pirates and enemy ships. This fort is amongst the other two forts, Bandra Fort & Mahim Fort, valued for its strategic importance to the British Navy guarding its western coast.
